Our head coach spoke about the match:
“Thanks to our footballers — they played the match better than in previous games. The most important thing is to fight until the end and carry out our plans. Unfortunately, we conceded a goal from a free kick. Before that, we had problems at the beginning — both with the ball and without it — but then we improved. Mirzoyan and Bruno could have scored; of course, the opponent applied pressure and created chances in our penalty area, but before the goal I don’t recall any particularly dangerous moments. We played against a very good team with a strong coach — congratulations to them. We allowed counterattacks, but overall I am satisfied with the players’ work.”
“The formation seemed to be 3-4-1-2, did I notice correctly?”
“The main thing is not the formation, but the style of play, the actions with and without the ball, and fulfilling the tasks. You are right, Mirzoyan played behind the striker. We changed the setup based on the opponent and our requirements. I think overall it turned out quite well; we just conceded the first goal from the flank, and after that the game changed.”
“How did you psychologically prepare the team for the Cup final?”
“I don’t see a connection between today’s game and the Cup final.”
“Today Arman Kazayan played instead of Anton Bratkov. Was Bratkov not ready?”
“He was ready. We have defenders of equal level, one of them is left-footed. Rotation happens constantly, and before each game we decide who should go out onto the pitch.”
