FC URARTU: AUTUMN REVIEW OF THE 2025/26 SEASON

Urartu FC has completed its performance in the autumn part of the 2025/26 season. Let’s review this stage together.

EUROPEAN COMPETITIONS

Urartu FC began its European campaign from the first qualifying round of the UEFA Conference League, facing Belarusian side FC Neman.

Unfortunately, the team of newly appointed head coach Robert Arzumanyan was unable to overcome the first-round barrier. In the first match in Yerevan, our team lost 1-2. The only goal was scored by Nicolas Kaloukian, who thus marked his European debut with a goal. In the return match, we again suffered a defeat. This time 0-4.

FASTEX PREMIER LEAGUE

Urartu FC enters the winter break sitting in second place in the Fastex Premier League table.

After 15 matches, the team under Robert Arzumanyan achieved the following results: 8 wins, 5 draws, and 2 losses.

In total, the team scored 25 goals, the second-best result in the league (the leader is FC Ararat-Armenia with 27 goals), and conceded only 8 goals, which is the best defensive record in the championship.

Individually, Urartu FC also leads in several categories.

The league’s top scorer is our forward Bruno Michel, who has scored 13 goals and provided 2 assists.
Additionally, Bruno set a new club record, becoming the most prolific foreign player in Urartu’s history with 19 goals, surpassing Bruno Correa, who scored 16 times in the 2011/12 season.
The best assist provider of the autumn part of the season is our captain Zhirayr Margaryan, who made 7 assists. His personal best is 8 assists, so Zhirayr has every chance to break his own record.
Urartu FC is also the league leader in clean sheets. Our goalkeeper Aleksandr Mishiev kept 8 clean sheets, the best result of the autumn stage.

ARMENIAN CUP

Urartu FC began its Armenian Cup campaign from the Round of 16, where the team faced FC Van from Charentsavan.

The tie consisted of a single match played at Urartu Stadium. Our team confidently won 4–0, thanks to a brace by Karen Melkonyan and goals from Oleg Poliakov and Edik Vardanyan.

In the quarterfinals, our team will play against FC Ararat. The first match will take place on March 3, and the return leg on March 31.

NATIONAL TEAMS

Several Urartu FC players were called up to the Armenian national teams of different age groups during this period:

National Team – Erik Piloyan, Narek Aghasaryan, Erik Simonyan, Nicholas Kaloukian
U21 National Team – Gor Matinyan, Edik Vardanyan
U19 National Team – David Harutyunyan

Our defender Erik Piloyan played every match of the World Cup qualifying stage, starting all of them. His performance in the home match against Ireland was particularly impressive.

Midfielder Narek Aghasaryan made his debut for the National team, appearing in the home match against Portugal.
